Thore: The Dark World Roisin Matthews

Thor 2 is the sequel to the film Thor which achieved outstanding reviews and a great reception at the box office. Thor 2 was produced by Marvel Studios and directed by Alan Taylor (who has also directed tv shows such as Mad Men and Game Of Thrones). They had a budget of $170 million, meaning they were able to have stars such as Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston. Thor 2 is being marketed in several different ways; it has posters on public transport (pictured) and adverts on tv. Thor 2 also had an incident where the poster had been photoshopped by a fan to have the character Loki in the place of Jane, which was then believed to be real by a cinema in China who then used the fan-made poster to promote the film.

Thor 2 has synergy with the Lego brand, creating Thor inspired Lego toys (pictured). It is being released in the UK on the 30th of October. It was released in the US on the 8th of November and it has achieved massive earnings, making $86.11 million in the first week of being released in the US.

It will be available in cinemas, on Blu-Ray and DVD, online (on websites such as netflix) and available in 3D in several cinemas. They have used social media to market the movie, creating pasges on tumblr, twitter, facebook etc to reach all audiences and using this to reach their target audience: 13+ year olds.
